Read on to see who we are, what we do and what is coming up soon! The VBS has been in existence for over 30 years now, originally forming as a scientific and social society for obstetricians and gynaecologists who were either working as senior registrars or newly qualified consultants in London. In those heady days, weekend meetings were held as far afield as Chepstow, but nowadays, the Society's activities are confined to well within the M25!   We hold three events each year - a Spring and Autumn Scientific Lecture, held at the RCOG in London, and a Winter Ball, always held in a fine hotel. All trainees working in O&G within London and the South East are welcome to VBS events, as are newly qualified consultants and, of course, those more established of our seniors who have been members in their junior days! In addition, we are always welcoming to medical students and FY doctors who are passionate about O&G!! Upcoming Events: Victor Bonney Spring Lecture Thursday 7th May 2009 FACTORS AFFECTING IVF OUTCOME Guest Speaker: Mr Sam Abdalla, Lister Fertility Clinic, London RCOG, London 6.30pm reception Lecture starts 7.30pm We are delighted that Sam Abdalla has accepted our invitation to speak to the Society. Sam is a leader in the field of fertility investigation and treatment  and we know that he will educate and inspire us all on the night! Victor Bonney Winter Ball early November 2009 - date tbc Our last Ball was a great success with over 140 attending the 'VBS on the Orient Express' themed-night! at our new venue, the Radisson Edwardian Marlborough Bloomsbury, London The VBS is a not for profit organisation which exists solely through the generosity of the organisations who have kindly supported our scientific lectures over the years.
